Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens.
- Pass Grade 12 with a bachelor’s admission and gain acceptance into a recognized South African university.
- Be matriculants or first-time university applicants.
- Reside in a community where CCBSA operates (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Not have affiliations with CCBSA or its affiliates.
Focus Communities
While applications are open to all eligible students, priority is given to individuals from specific communities such as Mdantsane, Motherwell, Phoenix, Tembisa, and more. This ensures a targeted impact on regions with the most need.

- Host Community Bursary Programme: Focuses on supporting university-ready students from indigent backgrounds.
- University Partnership: Aims at assisting the “missing middle” students who lack NSFAS or bursary funding.
- TVET College Support: Provides technical skills training, particularly in CCBSA-related fields like electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Ligbron E-learning Programme: Supports STEM education through technology, benefiting over 6,000 students.
