About SAFCOL Learnerships

SAFCOL’s learnerships target South African youth aged 18 to 35 with a matric (Grade 12) qualification. The program runs for 10 months and offers both theoretical and practical training, culminating in a National Certificate in Forestry at NQF Level 3. Participants receive a monthly stipend, and the program emphasizes skills that enhance employability in the forestry industry or support entrepreneurship through small business creation.

  • Silviculture Learnership
  • Mechanized Harvesting Learnership
  • General Forestry Learnership

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, candidates must meet these criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen aged between 18 and 35.
  • Be unemployed with a completed matric certificate.
  • Have a passion for working outdoors in forestry.

Preference is given to candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, women, and individuals from communities with which SAFCOL has established partnerships.
