{"id":23064,"date":"2024-07-07T14:21:11","date_gmt":"2024-07-07T14:21:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gometa.co.za\/info\/?page_id=23064"},"modified":"2024-07-07T14:21:11","modified_gmt":"2024-07-07T14:21:11","slug":"what-are-curro-school-fees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uni1.co.za\/articles\/what-are-curro-school-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"What are Curro school fees?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"advads-atf\" style=\"margin-top: 15px;margin-bottom: 20px;\" id=\"advads-1874935344\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-9198760278752355\"\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\n<!-- Responsive ads atf -->\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9198760278752355\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"8381596201\"\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/div><p>Private school group Curro has published a new shareholder presentation showing the monthly school fees parents can expect to pay when sending a learner to one of its schools.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The group \u2013 which currently has 166 schools and 70 campuses under management \u2013 said it expects learner numbers to grow over the coming year.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>From end 2019 to the start of the 2020 period, learner numbers grew by 9% from 57,597 to 62,689.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Curro said that strong growth was achieved in high school grades, with a significant rise in Grade 8 learner numbers, especially in Curro Academy schools.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Campuses.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Campuses.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-376969\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>School fees can differ quite dramatically depending on the type of school in the portfolio (eg Curro Select, Curro Castle, Curro DigiEd) as well as its location .<\/p>\n\n\n<p>For example, it can cost approximately&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.curro.co.za\/media\/205068\/curro-rivonia-2020-school-fees-letter-web-upload-2020-01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">R94,000<\/a>&nbsp;per year<\/strong>, or R8,005 per month to send a Grade 10 child to Curro Rivonia \u2013 while it will cost around&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.curro.co.za\/media\/205075\/curro-waterfall-2020-school-fees-web-upload-2020-01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">R116,000<\/a>&nbsp;per year<\/strong>&nbsp;(R10,500 per month) to send a Grade 10 student to Curro Waterfall.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>By comparison, it will cost only R60,000 per year for a Grade 12 student to attend&nbsp;<strong>Curro Hermanus&nbsp;<\/strong>and R65,400 per year for&nbsp;<strong>Curro Thatchfield.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The below table shows how much it costs on average monthly fees of these schools by age group.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Curro-table.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Curro-table.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-377019\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Curro said its focus in 2020 will be to invest capital in its current schools to accommodate the rapid increase in the high school learners.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It added that it will continue to look for attractive acquisition opportunities and that it will focus on delivery and enhancement of quality education (academic, sport and culture).<\/p>\n\n\n<p>During 2019, R1.3 billion was invested in the business. The capital was deployed in the following projects:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Construction of four new campuses (five schools) to the value of R185 million.
