The Application only makes provision for two study choices. If you want to add a third choice, or if you want to change your study choice after you have already submitted your online application, please forward your request to&nbsp;ssc@up.ac.za.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Your second-choice programme will automatically be considered should your application for your first-choice programme be unsuccessful or if your first choice is a selection programme.<\/li><li>Ensure that your first- and second-choice programmes meet the minimum admission requirements as well as the faculty\u2019s selection guidelines.<\/li><li>Note that certain programmes will not be considered if indicated as your second-choice. Refer to the faculty tables from page 5 of the prospectus.<\/li><li>For study advice, make an appointment with a Student Advisor via Ms Carol Bosch at +27 (0)12 420 5144 or&nbsp;carol.bosch@up.ac.za<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tuition and residence fees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on tuition and residence fees, go to www.up.ac.za\/fees-and-funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Fee estimator:<\/strong>&nbsp;Go to http:\/\/estimate.up.ac.za to get an estimation of the study fees for the programme\/s that you are interested in.<\/li><li>Family discount:&nbsp;When two or more dependent children of the same family are registered simultaneously at the University of Pretoria, they may apply for a rebate on tuition fees.<\/li><li>The 2.5% discount:&nbsp;If the student account is paid in full (ie 100%) by 30 April, a 2.5% discount is applicable.<\/li><li>Registration fee:&nbsp;This fee is not an additional amount payable, but forms part of the tuition fees and is an initial payment towards the tuition fees.<\/li><li>Residence reservation fee:&nbsp;This fee will be payable within 30 days after placement in a UP residence. For residence room fees, go to www.up.ac.za\/accommodation.<\/li><li>Fees paid by bursaries:&nbsp;Students must submit written proof from the sponsor of the&nbsp;bursary&nbsp;awarded to them prior to registration, otherwise the registration fee will be payable by the student. The final decision regarding the acceptance of a bursary letter rests with the University.<\/li><li>How and where to pay:&nbsp;Cashiers are available on all our campuses from Mondays to Fridays from 08:00 to 16:00. For EFT and credit card payments, please allow at least 5 working days for the payment to reflect on your student account.<\/li><li>UP banking details:&nbsp;See page 1 of the prospectus.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apply to study at Tuks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Apply ONLINE at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/upnet.up.ac.za\/upapply\/signon.html\" target=\"_blank\">www.up.ac<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/peeponline.com\/university-of-pretoria-up-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\">.<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/upnet.up.ac.za\/upapply\/signon.html\" target=\"_blank\">za\/apply<\/a>&nbsp;from 1 March in the year preceding studies. Remember the application deadline for most courses is&nbsp;<strong>30th September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Before you start to complete the Online Application, watch a video on<br>\u201c<strong>How to complete the online Application<\/strong>\u201d at www.up.ac.za. Click on \u201c<strong>See all YouTube videos<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li><li>Ensure that the email address that you indicate on your&nbsp;Online Application is correct as your temporary password and T number will be sent to this email address.<\/li><li>Ensure that you apply before the closing dates of both your first-and second-choice programmes. The closing dates are indicated in the faculty tables; see page 5 in this brochure or go to www.up.ac.za\/closing dates<\/li><li>Certain programmes will not be considered if indicated as your second-choice.<\/li><li>You will receive your student number within 10 working days after you have submitted your Online Application.<\/li><li>On receipt of your student number, you will be able to track your admission status on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/peeponline.com\/up-student-portal-guide\/\">UP Portal<\/a>. Refer to Step 7 for instructions on how to gain access to your Student Portal.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apply for residence placement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Online Application has a section to be completed if you are interested in residence placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Residence placement is based on academic merit and date of application.<\/li><li>The demand for accommodation by far exceeds the available spaces \u2013 apply as soon as possible from 1 March.<\/li><li>Preference is given to students with an academic average of 75% and above. More information is available at www.up.ac.za\/accommodation.<\/li><li>To qualify for guaranteed placement in a UP residence, the prospective<br>student must:<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 apply before 1 May in the year preceding studies;<br>\u2013 have obtained a minimum average of 85% in the examination with which the student applies to study at UP; and<br>\u2013 be provisionally admitted to a programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apply for bursaries and loans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UP bursaries and loans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Applications must be submitted via the UP Student Portal or www.up.ac.za\/ fees-and-funding. Quantitative Literacy is similar to Mathematical Literacy. The AQL test has also been translated into Braille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(2) MAT: Mathematics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A complete schedule with all the test centres can be found at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbt.ac.za.\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.nbt.ac.za.<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Value-added Questionnaire<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Value-added Questionnaire is only required for applications in the Faculties of Health Sciences and Veterinary Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Online Value-added Questionnaire will be made available on the UP Student Portal, only for prospective students in the above-mentioned faculties who meet the minimum admission requirements.
