They are also in charge of various specialised facilities, which include rehabilitation centres; psychiatric hospitals and tuberculosis hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>The Western Cape currently has 428 public primary care facilities, of which some are operated by the Department of Health and others by the City of Cape Town \u2013 these include community health centres and clinics.<\/p>\n<h3>ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME \u2013 FIELDS COVERED<\/h3>\n<p>The Western Cape Department of Health will be awarding bursaries to students pursuing their studies in Health Science, an area of identified skills shortage in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Bursaries will be awarded within the\u00a0<strong>Health Science<\/strong>\u00a0faculty, usually within the following fields of study (however the fields of study may alter annually depending on the Departments skill requirements):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Radiography<\/li>\n<li>Emergency Medical Care<\/li>\n<li>Nursing<\/li>\n<li>Pharmacy<\/li>\n<li>Medical (MBChB)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME \u2013 COVERAGE VALUE &amp; SERVICE CONTRACT<\/h3>\n<p>The bursary will provide coverage for the following expenses: registration fees, exam fees and tuition.<\/p>\n<p>Students will be required to \u201cwork back\u201d the bursary \u2013 one year of work for each year of funding received.
