Registration will be open from 08h00 to 15h00 daily. Students must arrive as early as possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contentReadMore\">1. <strong>When Can a Student Register?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The registration of all NCV courses will start on<strong> <u>11 January 2026<\/u><\/strong> at the following campuses:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Appelsbosch Campus <\/strong>&#8211; Appelsbosch- Business Studies and Engineering Studies<br \/>\n<strong>As Salaam Campus<\/strong> &#8211; Braemar- Business Studies and Engineering Studies<br \/>\n<strong>Durban Campus <\/strong>-Jameson Crescent- General Studies and Engineering Studies<br \/>\n<strong>Swinton Campus <\/strong>&#8211; Swinton Road, Mobeni-Business Studies and Engineering Studies<br \/>\n<strong>Ubuhle Bogu Campus<\/strong> &#8211; KwaQiko &#8211; Business Studies<br \/>\n<strong>Umbumbulu Campus<\/strong> &#8211; KwaMakhutha &#8211; Business Studies<br \/>\n<strong>UmlaziBB Campus<\/strong> -BB Section- Business Studies<br \/>\n<strong>Umlazi V Campus<\/strong> &#8211; V Section &#8211; Engineering Studies and Primary Agriculture<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">2. When Will Classes Start?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>All NCV students must return for registration by 11 January 2016 as it is a Departmental directive that NCV classes <strong>MUST<\/strong> <strong>start on 18 January 2016.<\/strong> This implies that the entire enrolment process should be completed on 15 January 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contentReadMore\">3 Registration Process For Returning Students<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>3.1. All returning students should collect their 2015 examination results at their campuses on 11January 2026.<br \/>\n3.2. All qualifying students undergo NSFAS application process.<br \/>\n3.3. All students who meet the progression criteria (as indicated in paragraph 5 below) will register in their respective levels.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">4 Admission Criteria For New Enrolments- NCV (2016)<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>4.1. Students who endeavour to enrol for NCV Level 2 Business and General Studies programs must have completed and passed \u00a0Grade \u00a010-11; and \u00a0Grade 12 with \u00a0Mathematics for \u00a0the \u00a0Information \u00a0&amp; Technology as well as Finance,Economics &amp; Accounting programs.<br \/>\n4.2. Students who endeavour to enrol for NCV Level 2- all Engineering Studies must have completed and passed a minimum of Grade 10-11Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).<br \/>\n4.3. Students who endeavour to enrol for NCV Level 2 Electrical Construction &#8211; may, on applying for employment,be required to pass a Colour competency test.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">5. \u00a0Progression Criteria<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>5.1. Students who endeavour to enrol for NCV Level 3 must have already passed a minimum of 5 NCV Level 2 subjects.<br \/>\n5.2. Students who endeavour to enrol for NCV Level 4 must have already passed all 7 Level 2 subjects as well as a minimum of 5 NCV Level 3 subjects.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">6.\u00a0 \u00a0Supplementary \u00a0Exams- Ncv Only: <\/span><br \/>\n6.1. Only students who have passed a minimum of three subjects will be permitted to register and write the supplementary exam if they meet the sub-minimum requirements. \u00a0Students who have passed less than three subjects may register as full-time (repeating) students,space permitting.<br \/>\n6.2. The sub-minimum Final November examination marks required for entry to a supplementary exam are:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>6.2.1. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy (25%- 29%)<br \/>\n6.2.2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 English (First AdditionalLanguage) \u00a0{35%- 39%)<br \/>\n6.2.3. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Life Orientation {35%- 39%)<br \/>\n6.2.4. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vocational &amp; Core subjects (45%- 49%)<br \/>\n<em><strong>(Students who achieve Jess than the minimum sub-minimum marks indicated <\/strong><\/em><strong><em>will not be eligible to sit the supplementary exam. The student needs to enter for a full-time\/recovery programme)<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>6.3. If these subjects are failed again in the Supplementary exam, the student will need to attend a full\u00ad time class or recovery programme for these subjects and re-write the November examination. The student will be responsible for the payment of the re-write fee per subject.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">7.\u00a0 \u00a0NCV Recovery Program <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>7.1. The NCV recovery programme as implemented in 2015 will again be implemented in 2026.<br \/>\n7.2. Students meeting the enrolment criteria for NCV Levels 3 and 4 with failed previous level subjects will be responsible for the payment of the recovery programme fee. \u00a0Non-payment of this fee will result in the student being DEREGISTERED from rewriting this subject.<br \/>\n7.3. All recovery \u00a0programme students \u00a0will \u00a0be required to develop \u00a0a new \u00a0ICASS year \u00a0mark \u00a0by sitting new assessments which must be placed as evidence into a subject POE.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">8.\u00a0 \u00a0Certification Criteria <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>8.1. In order for a student to qualify for a NCV Certificate, a student needs to have passed the following subjects:<br \/>\nNCV Level\u00a02 <em>=<\/em>7 subjects<br \/>\nNCV Level\u00a03 <em>=<\/em>7 subjects<br \/>\nNCV Level 4 <em>=<\/em>7 subjects<br \/>\n8.2. A total of 21subjects is required to qualify to receive the exit level NCV Certificate at NQF Level4.<br \/>\n8.3. DHET will issue Statement of Results for all levels. As the certification body, Umalusi will continue to issue certificates.<br \/>\n8.4. Students who <strong>did not<\/strong> obtain all 7 subjects on one level in one exam sitting and who rewrote and passed outstanding subjects in a Supplementary or November exam, will have <em>to\u00a0 <\/em><strong>apply for their certificates<\/strong> \u00a0through the<strong> Campus exam office.<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0This will take time and you may only receive this certificate after a minimum of 6 months.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">9.\u00a0 \u00a0DHET\/NSFAS (National Student\u00a0 Financial Aid Scheme) <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>9.1. Academically deserving and financially needy students may apply to \u00a0NSFAS for \u00a0financial aid. A National Means test determines who qualifies for the bursary. \u00a0Students, who do not qualify for NSFAS bursary, will have to pay the full appropriate tuition fees.<br \/>\n9.2. For students who still have some subjects outstanding (failed) at NCV Level 3 and\/or Level 4, on conclusion of Level 4, may be funded further for an additional year (in full-time classes) in order to obtain \u00a0the \u00a0certificates. For further \u00a0information \u00a0contact the Student Liaison Officer and\/or \u00a0the Financial Aid Officer.<\/p>\n<p>9.3. <strong>Repeaters- NCV <\/strong><br \/>\nStudents who do not meet the criteria to progress to the next level of study are viewed as repeaters and will <u><strong>not qualify<\/strong><\/u> for Financial Aid. Students, who wish to enrol,repeat a level or switch to another programme,<strong>will have to finance their studies.<em>(You will not qualify for a bursary).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Financial Aid is linked to academic performance,financial need and class attendance. Attendance \u00a0Policy of<\/strong><\/em> <strong><em>80% attendance will be adhered to.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"contentReadMore\">10. \u00a0Hostels <\/span><\/p>\n<p>10.1.\u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Hostel-Umlazi\/Umbumbulu\/ Appelsbosch<\/strong><br \/>\nHostel numbers are limited to 240 students at Umlazi V, 250 students at Umbumbulu and 295 students at \u00a0Appelsbosch. The provision \u00a0of \u00a0hostel accommodation is to support learning for students whose home address is further than a 40km radius from the Campus. NSFAS funding is not guaranteed for hostel accommodation. Funds are severely limited in this regard and do not cover the full cost of the hostel. Any shortfall in hostel fees will need to be covered by the student.<\/p>\n<p>10.2.\u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Hostel Compliance <\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>10.2.1. Priority \u00a0will \u00a0be given \u00a0to \u00a0returning \u00a0students who \u00a0have achieved high \u00a0level of \u00a0academic performance. Where space is still available,then new entry level students can be considered.<br \/>\n10.2.2. Students have to \u00a0apply AND register for the duration \u00a0of each course of \u00a0study for hostel accommodation. \u00a0Hostel accommodation is NOT guaranteed even if a student was previously accommodated.<br \/>\n10.2.3. Hostel accommodation is solely for current registered students &#8211; if you are not a student registered for a <strong>full complement of subjects<\/strong> you are not allowed to be in the hostel. <strong>(Residing of unregistered people in the hostels will be regarded as trespassing). <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&gt;<\/strong> All students wishing to be accommodated in \u00a0the \u00a0hostel MUST complete\u00a0a Hostel Application form.<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;<\/strong> All completed application forms will be evaluated for compliance against set criteria for admission purposes.<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;<\/strong> Successful applicants will be registered, allocated a room and keys.<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;<\/strong> Persons who are NOT current students will be given notice to vacate the hostels.<br \/>\n<strong>&gt;<\/strong> Students who ignore this application process will be deemed as trespassers and will be prosecuted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"contentCopy\">\n<td colspan=\"2\" align=\"left\" valign=\"top\" height=\"1017\">\n<table class=\"my_tablesCopy\" border=\"0\" width=\"1084\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"643\"><span class=\"my_tables\">B. <strong>NATED \/ REPORT 191 REGISTRATION AND PROGRESSION CRITERIA INFORMATION<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>The following information is important to all current and future \u00a0students \u00a0who intend \u00a0registering for the Report 191 courses in January 2016.
