{"id":4746,"date":"2024-01-08T12:05:39","date_gmt":"2024-01-08T12:05:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/50application.com\/?p=4746"},"modified":"2024-01-08T12:05:39","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T12:05:39","slug":"nsfas-online-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uni1.co.za\/articles\/nsfas-online-application\/","title":{"rendered":"Nsfas Online Application 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"entry-title\">Nsfas Online Application 2026<\/h1>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<h2>Applications now open<\/h2>\n<h1 class=\"article-title entry-title\">NSFAS opens online varsity funding applications for 2026<\/h1>\n<div class=\"entry\">The\u00a0National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has opened the application process for students wanting to study at a public university or college in 2026.NSFAS is a government entity which provides students coming from households earning a specific income with loans and bursaries to study at any of the 26 public universities or at a TVET College.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme has significantly simplified the process and also allows applications to be done online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have worked behind the scenes to strengthen and improve our internal systems and capacity, to be able to deal with the high volumes of applications that we are expecting\u2026The application form for 2026 has been reduced to just two pages, from eleven pages that last year\u2019s application form had,\u201d said acting CEO,\u00a0Lerato Nage.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-1\"><\/div>\n<p>From this year onward, NSFAS will accept applications from anyone who qualifies to enter the post-school education system but cannot afford to finance their studies.<\/p>\n<p>For those not able to access the internet, NSFAS has also partnered with\u00a0the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) to provide easy access for learners to applying for funding.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership will allow NSFAS to make use of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsfas.org.za\/content\/nyda.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">15 NYDA branches nationwide<\/a>, as well as the more than 50 Local Youth Offices (LYO) to accept applications. Applications will remain open between \u00a0August and \u00a0November .<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Dear Applicants<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>We are pleased to inform you that our technical problem has been resolved and now all returning students can be able to process and submit their applications on the NSFAS website. We apologise for the technical error that made it impossible for you to submit your applications since Friday. Kindly note that while applications are open for all returning students, post-graduate students are not included in this provision. Thanks You.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>To all current university\/ TVET college students already funded by NSFAS<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>NSFAS is in a process to receive all your information and details from the university\/college where you are currently enrolled. You will be automatically migrated to the student-centred model, and will be notified by SMS\/post once NSFAS has received and registered your details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply on the NSFAS website, you will be required to register first to create your personal online account<\/strong>, and then proceed to fill and submit the application form online. You may need about 30 minutes to complete this online process, and must also have scanned copies of the following required attachments:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"marked-list\">\n<li>Matric Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Identity Document\/Birth Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Last Academic Results<\/li>\n<li>Proof of parents income (If parent\/s employed)<\/li>\n<li>Death Certificate\/s (If parent\/s deceased)<\/li>\n<li>Doctor\u2019s Certificate (If permanently disabled)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"page_title\">\n<h2>SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS \u2013\u00a0Nsfas Online Application<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"page-wrap\"><strong>When applying for a NSFAS loan, please attach certified copies of the following documents. <\/strong><br \/>\nPLEASE NOTE:<br \/>\nIn order for your application to be processed, please ensure that you complete all sections of the application form and attach all supporting documents. You must write your identity number on every page of all of your supporting documents in order for your application to be processed. NSFAS will not be able to process applications without an ID number.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Please attach certified copies of the following documents:<\/strong><br \/>\n(All the certified copies must not be older than 3 months) Your documents can be certified at the South African Police Service or the South African Post Office.If you are under the age of 18 or if you are 18 and older and are STILL DEPENDENT on the household income of your parent or legal guardian, then this also applies to you.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Certified copy of your Identity Document. If you are younger than 16 years of age, and do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card, you must submit a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span class=\"orge\"><strong>*<\/strong><\/span> Certified copy of Identity Document of each household member including parents or legal guardian.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Certified copy of your latest academic transcript or exam results. If you are currently in Grade 12, you do not need to submit this.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>If you have been exempted from paying school fees, please provide a letter from the school informing NSFAS that you have been exempted.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span class=\"orge\"><strong>*<\/strong><\/span> Certified or official copy of recent payslip, letter of employment, not older than three months, for each parent, or the person who supports you, or your guardian or yourself if you are employed. This is for all types of employment or all forms of income for all members of the household.
