UCT uses a&nbsp;<strong>Faculty Points Score (FPS), a Medical Points Score (MPS)<\/strong>&nbsp;and a&nbsp;<strong>Weighted Points Score (WPS)<\/strong>&nbsp;to assess your school performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Faculty Point Score (FPS):&nbsp;<\/strong>this is a measure used to rank applicants.&nbsp; In some faculties (<strong>Health Sciences and Medicine<\/strong>), it is a combination of the APS and the NBT score and in other faculties (<strong>Commerce, Engineering, Humanities, and Law<\/strong>), it is the APS.<br><strong>Weighted Points Score (WPS):&nbsp;<\/strong>this is the FPS weighted by a disadvantage factor applicable to the applicant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<strong>WPS<\/strong>&nbsp;is only for South African applicants as it is a disadvantage factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be able to see how to calculate these scores below. Please make sure you check each faculty to calculate the right score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty of Commerce, Humanities, Engineering and Law<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In these faculties, the&nbsp;<strong>FPS<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>APS<\/strong>&nbsp;are the same.
